Women and the Spiritual Path

Hi Brent. I was wondering if you have any insight into women and the spiritual path? Do you think the spiritual path is different for men and women? What do you think women are contributing/will spiritually contribute to our evolution?

I feel that women at this time are and will continue to be the driving force for huge amounts of positive growth and change for humanity as a collective, in all dimensions, especially spiritually.

Women have been repressed, denied, abused and seen as secondary or peripheral for very long. Though this has certainly been unjust, I feel that because of it, women today are more resilient, courageous and powerful and as we move into the next few decades, they will demonstrate these qualities in very profound ways as leaders, healers, teachers, thinkers, innovators and so on.

It’s not simply women that have been suppressed, however. I would take a more general stance and say that it is the feminine that has been suppressed, namely emotions. Emotion is a very feminine thing. Expressing emotion has been seen as something weak, vulnerable, and useless.

However, as we move further collectively with our evolution, we are coming to see just how important emotions are. They are what make us human. They are what we use to create our own reality with manifestation and the law of attraction.

As we awaken to these facts, we will embrace emotion, and thus embrace the feminine. As a result, we will empower women and they will show us how to harness the power of emotion in deeper ways.

There is a difference between men and women, generally speaking. Those that are more feminine give themselves more permission to feel their emotions. This is typical of women, generally. Though this may have been seen as something weak, it is absolutely not.

Emotion is the doorway to real intimacy with oneself, others and all of existence. On the spiritual path, those that are more feminine by nature have the advantage of being highly emotionally intelligent and wise. This is very critical on the path, as to be self-aware involves knowing and understanding what we’re feeling.

This is not to say that men or those that are masculine are totally incapable of this, absolutely not. We can all learn and develop our ability to embrace our emotions and what we feel, but to some it comes more naturally than others.

I myself used to be emotionally numb and have my feelings suppressed. I learned from women about how to embrace and express my emotions and feelings.

So women have an advantage in this area and that will be the reason that they will now continue to be able to claim their place in a world that has held them back for so long. They will be the ones that will show us how to feel. And right now, this is what we need most.
