Part 35: Even a Fool Can Go Through Kundalini Awakening! Surrender to the Mystery

You don’t have to know everything there is about Kundalini awakening to have a successful unfolding. In fact, you can’t know everything. You will never get to the bottom of it.

It’s mysterious and wondrous and beyond our full comprehension as human beings.

Our society’s obsession with knowledge is useful in other spheres. But when it comes to the Kundalini process, the obsession with knowledge can become a distraction and a hindrance on the journey.

In our society, we praise the intellect. We measure each other based on how much we know, our degrees, what school we went to, and so on.

This has been programmed into us since our days in the school classroom. We were, to some degree, competing over who knew the most.

And we were told the smarter you were, the more money you would make and the more successful you would be.

But we realize that's not true once we leave school and enter the real world. But still, the programming runs deep.

I sometimes meet with people going through Kundalini awakening who have become absolutely obsessed with trying to intellectually understand every little detail about what’s going on with their process.

They may have some mystical experience. And then they think, okay, well, I started taking some supplement earlier that week. Maybe that supplement has something to do with Kundalini and mystical experiences.

And they start trying to conduct experiments and things like that. Trying to figure out if there is a relationship between the supplement and if they can recreate their mystical experience through knowledge and effort.

They become obsessed with understanding where the Kundalini is in their body, which chakra, which nadi, which past life is being cleared, what stage are they in if they look at their journey through the Vedic models, and how about the Buddhist models?

And on and on. The intellectual madness continues, keeping them spinning their wheels in the same spot.

You can be a damn fool and go through the Kundalini process, embody a sense of oneness with Divinity, and not know anything about anything.

Contemplate this. Intellectual knowledge is unnecessary.

When you get a cut and it heals on its own, you don’t obsess over what your white blood cells are doing, and how many there are and whatever else.

In a previous talk, I compared Kundalini to puberty. When you went through puberty, you didn’t feel the need to know anything about it. You probably were successful at puberty.

A caterpillar goes into the cocoon and becomes a butterfly and it doesn’t know a thing at all.

It just feels. It trusts. It listens and moves in the organic ways that it’s called. It has no sense of obsession, intellect, or a need to know.

This process is mysterious. We barely even understand the basic mundane processes of the body.

We don’t even know what dreams are. We’re only just starting to understand about the microbiome in our stomachs.

Kundalini is on a whole other level of mystery and if you ask me, it will always be that way.

We are not called to know everything about it. We’re called to experience it directly.

Sure, intellectual knowledge is useful at times. But it should be tempered with a healthy amount of just allowing yourself to play dumb and just go along for the ride.

And yes, we do need to understand more about this process. I don’t want to completely dismiss it.

There are certain questions that we have which are reasonable and natural. I have these questions myself from time to time and I do my best to answer these kinds of questions for others too. I have hours and hours of content all about this stuff. So I get it.

Just make sure you don't use the need to understand everything before making progress as an excuse to hold yourself back.

My work here doesn’t really go into much detail about all the little minutia of the spiritual awakening journey. I mostly share that the answers are already within you, that you can trust your intuition, and that you can surrender and relax.

I honestly don’t know much about Kundalini besides that it’s a natural process I can trust.

I’m a passenger in the car. I can afford to just look out the window and enjoy the ride. I don’t need to worry about any of the technical details of driving.

That’s not my role. In the same way, I don’t need to worry about any of the technicalities of the Kundalini process.

So I invite you to give yourself permission to be a fool sometimes. Surrender the mystery.
